Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) starting on February 13. During this visit, on February 14, PM Modi will inaugurate the inaugural Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, the BAPS Mandir. This marks his seventh visit to the UAE since 2015.

Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra highlighted the significance of the temple's inauguration as a key aspect of PM Modi's visit. Additionally, the Prime Minister will address the Indian community in the UAE at a separate event in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi.

PM Modi is slated to engage in bilateral meetings with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss the enhancement and strengthening of strategic partnerships between the two nations. He will also meet Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Defense Minister of the UAE.

Furthermore, PM Modi is set to participate in the World Government Summit 2024 as the Guest of Honour, delivering a special keynote address. An event named 'Ahlan Modi' will be organized for the Indian community in Abu Dhabi on February 13, which has garnered an unprecedented response with over 65,000 registrations.

The highlight of the visit will be the inauguration of the BAPS Mandir on February 14, making it the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi and the Middle East's first traditional Hindu stone temple. The temple, constructed on 27 acres of land, had its groundbreaking in 2015.

Following the UAE visit, PM Modi is scheduled to conclude his trip with a visit to the Qatari capital, Doha, on Wednesday. In Doha, he will engage in comprehensive discussions with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, to further expand bilateral ties.
